　　The first generation of artificial leather is PVC (PVC), which is inexpensive and has a certain natural leather texture, but has the shortcomings of poor weather resistance, stiff handfeel, and poor softness, and is mainly used in the field of low-end bags, shoes, and balls.

　　The second generation of products is PU (polyurethane), originated in the 1940s after the large-scale application of polyurethane materials, with a soft luster, soft hand, leather feel, good cold resistance, etc., widely used in clothing, furniture and mid-range and high-end shoes field.

　　The pattern of PVC leather is hot-pressed by steel pattern rollers; the pattern of PU leather is made of a kind of patterned paper first hot-pressed on the surface of semi-finished leather, waiting for cooling down and then carry out the separation of the paper leather, do surface treatment.

　　The price of PU leather is more than double than that of PVC leather, and the price of some special requirements of PU leather is 2-3 times higher than that of PVC leather. General PU leather needs patterned paper can only be used 4-5 times that is scrapped; patterned rollers have a long life cycle, so the cost of PU leather is higher than that of PVC leather.

　　The scope of application of these two materials also has certain differences. In footwear, PVC leather is mostly used in the lining or non-weight-bearing parts, or the manufacture of children's shoes; PU leather can be applied to the fabric or weight-bearing parts of the footwear. As for bags, PVC leather is used more often. This is because the items in the bag, unlike the feet in shoes, do not emit heat and do not have to bear the weight of the individual.
